Home Shield Security Consultants was formed as the need for personal and property protection increased in the New Tampa Florida area. With the formation of high end residential development increasing northward from the city of Tampa, a wave of crime has followed. The once secure gated communities have been breached by thieves who recognize the wealth within these neighborhoods. Tyler Finn, created Home Shield Security after it appeared to him that homeowners were making it too easy for the criminals. Home security was at the bottom of their priority list. He recognized that homeowners needed to raise their level of awareness and secure their homes and cars and protect their families from intruders.

With the increase in Carjackings, Burglaries, and Home Invasion Robberies occurring every 16 seconds in the United States, we at HSSC have dedicated our business to protect the homeowner by utilizing a consultative approach. Each homeowner will receive a complete personalized home security vulnerability – threat assessment report. Our goal is to make our clients feel secure in the only sanctuary they have – their home.

Our Security Consultant team is comprised of former State Troopers and Police Officers. The president of the company is Tyler Finn, a former New York State Trooper Investigator who served with the State Police for 22 years. He is a Graduate of Saint Leo University where he earned his BA in Criminology. Tyler Finn worked for three years as a Security Officer for the Suffolk County New York District Attorney’s Office prior to his career with the Troopers. He also ran his own private security/protection business in the Hamptons, New York for 11 years. His State Police background was as a Patrol Trooper for 6 years. He was then promoted to Squad Investigator in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for 1 year and then became a Narcotics Investigator with both the State Police and the DEA Task Force for 12 years. He finished his career in the State Police Major Case Unit where they conducted all Homicide, White Collar Crimes, Homeland Security and Counter Terrorist Intelligence investigations. He is an expert in the subject of Street Survival for Police Officers and taught that subject at the New York State Police Academy and to other Police Departments. His Dignitary Protection experience included protection and escort details for President George W. Bush, New York Governors Mario Cuomo and George Pataki and their Lieutenant Governors. Tyler was in charge of the Tiger Woods security detail and he was the Personal Security Escort inside the ropes for Tiger at the U.S. Open at Bethpage(2002) and Shinnecock(2004).
